The Academy of Sciences is the highest public institution that represents and carries the best values of science, scientific research, creativity and debate and interaction of thought scientific in Albania, through a selected community of scientists and creators. It is an autonomous institution in the field of research, which supports its activity in scientific evidence, and for the benefit of the country. The Academy, as a legal entity, consists of a body of scientists and researchers called the Assembly. It is located in Tirana, Albania.
The role of the Academy of Sciences of Albania is to contribute and promote the
achievements of scientific research and propose new fields of research and study in accordance with the priorities and development needs of the country;
To build strategies and implement policies for the unified use of the official Albanian language of contemporary terminologies of science and technology, as well as for language consolidation in all fields of science;
To advise and help with recommendations, expertise and opposition to the Government and central institutions for important aspects of scientific research, training senior specialists and planning future projects, etc.
